Dave Eggers was at the first game of the World Series, sketching whatever he saw. I haven’t looked much into his illustrations or work (I picked up a McSweeney’s once in high school and felt too immature to read it). But I know the guy’s a genius. These pieces capture people without making them look too human or cartoonish and let their words speak for themselves. Each of them can stand on their own and say something, without giving us a billion details.
